Domaine Berthenet

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

The Berthenet family has been growing vines for about four centuries. The estate is located in Montagny in the Cote Chalonnaise. The estate works with passion to respect the environment. All the plots are planted from selected grafts from the estate’s nursery.

CURRENT WINES

Berthenet Bourgogne Aligoté Vieilles Vignes (Blanc)
TERROIR & VINEYARD

Old vines planted ~1950 (60+ years). Clay and granite soils. Sustainable (lutte raisonnée).

VINIFICATION

Fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts. Aged entirely in stainless steel. No oak.

TASTING NOTES

Green apple, white flowers, lemon zest, and citrus. Bright and refreshing with balanced acidity and a nutty, mineral-driven finish.

Berthenet Bourgogne Pinot Noir (Rouge)
TERROIR & VINEYARD

Clay-limestone soils. Sustainable (lutte raisonnée). 18-hectare estate.

VINIFICATION

Traditional Burgundian vinification. Aged in oak barrels.

TASTING NOTES

Red cherry, raspberry, and subtle spice. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and a fresh, elegant finish.

Berthenet Montagny 1er Cru Les Perrières (Blanc)
TERROIR & VINEYARD

Premier Cru Les Perrières. Stony limestone soils. Sustainable.

VINIFICATION

Fermented and aged in oak barrels with lees stirring.

TASTING NOTES

Rich and complex with stone fruit, citrus, hazelnut, and mineral notes. Full-bodied with a creamy texture and a long finish.

Berthenet Montagny Tête de Cuvée (Blanc)
TERROIR & VINEYARD

Selection of best parcels. Clay-limestone soils. Sustainable.

VINIFICATION

Fermented and aged in oak barrels.

TASTING NOTES

Concentrated citrus and stone fruit with floral notes. Round and generous with good minerality and a persistent finish.
