Domaine La Toupie

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Domaine La Toupie was founded in 2012 by Jérôme Collas, agronomist and winemaker. It’s located in the heart of the Catalan country in the South of France, 25 km from Perpignan and on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Coiled at the foot of the Canigou peak and in the foothills of the Pyrénées mountains, the domaine extends for 12 hectares along the black schist and Mediterranean limestone soils of Maury. Jérôme selected the name “la Toupie” (spinning top) for the estate because this very old, rare gyroscope is not easy to keep balanced. And Jérôme constantly strives for the right balance in his wine – complexity but not heavy, richness yet powerful, with elegant tannins and a fresh finish.
